Our Innovative team united to make strides against breast cancer.

This past weekend, a team of Innovative employees, friends and family, joined together to participate in the Making Strides of Lehigh Valley Breast Cancer Walk. Hundreds of intrepid walkers, many dressed in pink for the occasion, made their way along the three-mile course at the Steel Stacks in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. But for Innovative, the journey began many weeks earlier.

Before a single sneaker was laced, our CFO, Kevin McClelland, and the Innovative Activities Committee, spearheaded the idea of sponsoring a team for the walk. From there, they rallied participants and organized event logistics. In the end, 35 participants joined the team to raise money and walk in the event.

What began as a modest goal of raising $1,000 turned into over $3,300 in donations.

And their hard work paid off. What began as a modest goal of raising $1,000 turned into over $3,300 in donations. This put Innovative in the top ten out of 145 teams participating in the event. These funds will go towards the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer research efforts, along with providing critical services to patients such as free rides to chemotherapy treatments, housing near treatment centers, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline.

The walk took place on a sunny day in Bethlehem, PA.

For Innovative, participating in the walk is a reflection of our values as a company with our emphasis on teamwork, respect and integrity. Innovative CEO Dave Fox said about the day, “It was great to come out with our community for this important event and we are so proud of our employees who participated for such a worthy cause.”

For Innovative, participating in the walk is a reflection of our values as a company with our emphasis on teamwork, respect and integrity.

While each individual who participated had their own reasons for walking, the entire team shares a belief in the importance of the cause and a determination to save lives from breast cancer. As a company, we want to help and we know that walking in our local event was the way to do that. We’re proud of the ways the money our team raised will help. From funding research to providing free information for people dealing with the disease and support through treatment, we know that our donations are helping save lives.

Thank you to all the Innovative team members who participated in this year’s event. And while Breast Cancer Awareness month might be coming to an end for 2019, our Innovative family will continue to support breast cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers through each step of their experience.
